Vernon Greys & 6th Indiana

ATTENTION, COMPANY!!!

Welcome from the Vernon Greys & 6th Indiana, a Civil War reenactment group.

We organized as the Vernon Greys in 2007 to represent Company A, 9th Regiment (Jennings) of the Indiana Legion - the home guard.  In 2012, we joined the 6th  Regiment Indiana Volunteer Infantry to represent Company B from Jennings County in the first Regiment formed in Indiana at the start of the Civil War.

The Greys come from all walks of life. We have a firefighter, a police officer, teachers, an engineer, a gunsmith, a minister, a historian, a business owner, and high school and college students in our ranks. The ladies of the unit also share in many of the events with the soldiers.

The Greys participate in events such as full-scale battle reenactments, living history encampments, educational presentations, and parades.
